Peter and Nathan Macfarlane are the father-son duo specialising in fly fishing the upper Mohaka River and surrounding rivers in Central Hawke’s Bay. Find us just off state Highway 5 - about half-way between Taupo and Napier. On the banks of the mighty Mohaka River. Besides Peter's accreditation as a certified fishing guide with the NZPFGA, his ecologist background adds a different dimension - a deeper understanding of the environment, being able to explain in depth why and how things happen on the waters.

A full day of action accessing the most hard-to-reach, untouched pools on the famous Mohaka River. From 09h-17h, beginning with a scenic drive to the Upper Mohaka your remote back country water adventure begins. Your experienced guide will teach you to fish while drifting, and stopping at the best spots for abundant brown and rainbow trout.

Hawke's Bay Heli-Fishing
Working alongside the most experienced heli-fishing operators in Hawke's Bay, we are happy to offer our guests access to the spectacular back country waters in the area. Helicopter landings and takeoffs are a stone's throw from our fishing guests' accommodation.
Accommodation
Self-contained chalets or a cottage for 1-4 people are available for fishing guests. Stay awhile here on Mohaka River farm and explore these famous fishing waters by day while staying in quiet comfort by night. A completely new and exciting day, every day.
